With the rapid growth of mobile sensing technologies (like GPS, GSM, RFID, Accelerometer, and other locomotion sensors in smart phones), the large-scale capture of evolving positioning data (also called "mobility data" or "trajectories") generated by moving objects has become more technically and economically feasible.
Zhixian Yan will talk about a novel model called "semantic trajectories" to represent mobility data in a high-level and more meaningful perspective.
