Open & Collaborative Innovation
Open innovation is the use of purposive inflows and outflows of knowledge to accelerate internal innovation, and expand the markets for external use of innovation, respectively. (H. Chesbrough: “Open innovation” HBS Press, 2003)
Since it’s creation in 1993 the Xerox Research Centre Europe has pursued a policy of "Open & Collaborative Innovation" through a number of activities and initiatives with the wider European scientific community on a variety of R&D projects. Currently XRCE contributes to and capitalizes from the know-how of more than 100 institutions from 25 nations.
