Technology Showroom Manager

I have managed the XRCE Technology Showroom since 1996. My role is to make technologies simple and accessible to our visitors, either customers or the press. There is nothing better than seeing enthusiastic and excited visitors after having spent a day with us. My background is in computer science, I graduated from the Université de Compiègne in 1989, in artificial intelligence and scientific calculus. I worked for 5 years in a small startup that became Euriware doing programming on object oriented databases and technical coordination on software projects for the French Navy. I worked for 3 years in IBSI Telecom that eventually became part of Atos Origin, doing project management for telecommunication management network programs. I then entered Xerox, starting at XRCE in 1996.

All these projects I worked had innovation in mind, discovering new things is one of my motivations.
Following this curiosity (which is sometimes described as a fault in France), I have been part of several projects at XRCE. I was one of the first Software Engineering Process Group members introducing CMM (Capability Maturity Model) level 2 in XRCE, took on project management on Calliope / WebDoc (Digital Library project) and also the recently defunct Personalised Variable Documents program.

I have another life outside of XRCE, shared between my wife Christine and our three kids as well as with my neighbourhood community L'association des habitants de Charlaix-Maupertuis.

I play music with friends, I play drums even though I preferred guitar in the past. Our pop / rock band can be seen in the Grenoble region.
