Our Research

Speaker: Serge Miguet, professor, Université de Lyon, France

Abstract: In this talk, I will present some results we have obtained during the last few years in the domain of Video Contents Analysis, and its applications to videosurveillance. These research activities are the results of a collaboration between the Imagine team of the LIRIS laboratory, UMR CNRS 5205 in Lyon, and the Foxstream company located in Vaulx en Velin. This collaboration gave rise to several PhD Thesis, supported by CIFRE agreements. Our contributions are related to the main steps of the video processing chain : background subtraction for the detection of moving objets, both for fixed and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, segmentation and tracking in single camera or multiple cameras installations, color calibration for multicamera tracking and objects re-identification, trajectory analysis and seldom events detection, high-level decision making for behavior analysis, global scene understanding including detection of entry and exit zones, and automatic moving object counting. The talk will be illustrated by qualitative and quantitative results obtained both on private datasets and on publicly available videos.
