Text meets graph analytics
Speaker: Tim Baldwin, professor at University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
Abstract: As a field, NLP is inevitably fixated on the analysis of textual content, but this is all too often to the exclusion of context, whether textual or otherwise. One common way for capturing context is through graphical structure, in the form of relationships between documents or interactions between document authors. In this talk, I will discuss ways of interfacing textual and graph analysis, in the context of the tasks of user geolocation and the prediction of political stance.
