Research Interests

Statistical Learning applied to Natural Language Processing and Textual Information Access. More specifically:

  • Kernel- and margin-based methods (originally as a participant in the KerMIT EU project)
  • Learning with structured output
  • Document categorisation and filtering (see participation in TREC 2002 )
  • Statistical Machine Translation
  • Cross-Language Information Retrieval
  • Multilingual terminology extraction
  • Feature projection through word-aligned bilingual corpora

Currently member of the Steering Committee of the PASCAL EU Network of Excellence on "Pattern Analysis, Statistical Modelling and Computational Learning".
