The Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) is a web services environment which let the Multifunctional printers (MFPs) interact with server based applications. The MFP becomes part of the customer workflow and customer can create new web portal access to any of their enterprise applications (finance, HR etc) via the touch sensitive screen on the device. Xerox has developed a number of applications with partners include secure card authentication for confidential and/or personalized access. This new generation of MFPs will improve business productivity by providing more secure gateways to information and creating new, easily accessible, information workflows (available free of charge on a number of MFP products and partner solutions)
