Print Infrastructure Mining

Fully manage dynamically all your printing devices

Data mining is a broad topic which encompasses the study of large amounts of data. Print Infrastructure Mining or 'PIM' is the application of data mining to print usage. By studying print logs, PIM learns about user habits and deduces information on printer use, such as amount/type of traffic, how close one printer is to another and even how effectively each printer is being used in the organization. This information is used by the administrator to better manage the printer fleet. Traffic and proximity information help optimize the where devices should be placed and where to redirect a print jobs to when the chosen printer is down. The information gathered is also used to detect 'soft failures' i.e. when print quality is decreasing even although the printer indicates no error in the administrator system.
