Salah Ait-Mokhtar joined XRCE in August 1996 as a research scientist. He holds an engineering degree in conputer science and a PhD in computational linguistics from Blaise Pascal University (Clermont-Ferrand)
His main interests and works are about written language analysis, including tokenisation, morphology, POS tagging, robust parsing and semantic analysis. He is also interested in finite-state techniques applied to language analysis.

 He is currently working on robust semantic analysis of texts.
