Postdoctoral researcher, Cross-Language Technologies

  Research Interests

I joined XRCE in December 2006 as a postdoctoral researcher. My main research interest is about learning from structured objects, although I have recently been developing interests in learning with structured outputs. My research activities at XRCE are mainly related to the SMART project and statistical machine translation. More specifically, I am currently working with Nicola Cancedda on the development of discriminative language models based on linguistically enriched kernel functions.

Before joining XRCE, I did my PhD at the Center for Computational Biology of the Ecole des Mines de Paris, where I had the pleasure to work with Jean-Philippe Vert on the design of kernel functions for molecular structures, and their application to virtual screening.

My PhD manuscript: "Kernel functions for molecular structures and their application to virtual screening with Support Vector Machines"

Software

In my spare time, I am involved in the development and maintenance of ChemCpp : an open-source C++ toolbox for chemoinformatics dedicated to the computation of kernels functions between molecules.
