Enterprise Architecture

Enterprise Architecture enables the various parts of an organization to articulate information, technology and business strategy in a common decision framework.

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) area focuses on three main lines of research:

• Document processing, by developing methods and technologies to map document content into actionable data, especially through conversion to XML

• Service and business process modeling which encompasses:
  • Modeling and tooling techniques to bridge domain-specific languages (DSL) and Business Process Management (BPM) generic languages
  • Matching DSLs and architectural concepts to leverage flexible infrastructure options

• Interoperability & sustainability to:
  • Manage information flows across heterogeneous systems and organizations
  • Guarantee the validity and re-usability of data and processes over space and time

The area is involved in several Open Innovation projects including the recent SHAMAN integrated project (2007-2011) dedicated to Digital Preservation and the means to ensure future accessibility and usability of data and information.

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) area has several technologies on Open Xerox , including:

- XML conversion services

- Xeproc , a DSL for XML document processing

- XeQual , a prototype for link management.
