Personalized Variable Documents PROGRAM

The PVD program covers technologies & components supporting the production of customized and variable documents. The variability of a document spans across the entire document production chain:

Authoring
The use of XML and related technologies (XSL, XSL) are key in the document creation phase. The PVD program uses its XML expertise to ease the production or the transformation of XML documents. Other technologies like profiling, content mining and content transformation will play a role in the authoring phase.

Impagination
Technologies that can help automate or semi-automate the creation of a document layout are being developed.

Printing
Documents can be printed/displayed on a variety of media: printers (BW, colour) or screen. The PVD program develops technologies that can help re-purpose the document depending on the targeted medium.
